Arnold Hottinger and Erich Gysling are two names that are outstanding in Swiss journalism. Their names are synonymous with the Middle East and beyond. Both were foreign correspondents, linguists, authors, lecturers and broadcasters.

While at Swiss Radio International, Bob Zanotti interviewed Arnold Hottinger and Erich Gysling regularly. Sadly, Arnold Hottinger died in May of 2019 at the age of 92. But Erich Gysling is alive and well and still very active.

Bob Zanotti got Erich Gysling online together with Arnold Hottinger’s daughter, Jessica, for a 45-minute look back at the careers of the two men.

Erich Gysling also discusses his rather pessimistic view of the outlook for peace in the Middle East.
