The term “Bed and Breakfast” has been around a long time in English-speaking countries. But in recent years, it has caught on in a big way in Switzerland. Many people like the idea of staying with a host family instead of in a hotel, while others like B&Bs because they tend to be less expensive than hotels.
Dorette Provoost operates her own B&B agency near the city of Basel. She is also involved with a national group called “Bed and Breakfast Switzerland”.
